Water Desalination

Around the world, millions of people face the challenge of accessing clean and potable water, and traditional sources are proving inadequate. Rapid population growth, urbanization, pollution, and climate change have intensified the global water crisis, leaving communities vulnerable to health risks and economic instability, thereby increasing the need for water desalination as an alternative solution. By 2050 over 5 billion people or over half of the global population could be living under water-stressed conditions.

Environmental challenges

High energy demand → Requires a lot of power

Costly infrastructure → Expensive to build and maintain

Membrane fouling → reducing efficiency and increasing maintenance

Brine disposal → Increases seawater salinity, harming marine life.

Best available and cost-effective solutions for water desalinations

We have over 25 years experience designing and engineering bespoke process technology for treating all marine wastewaters including desalinated seawater

With unrivalled R&D Facilities we offer the best available and emerging technologies. Our integrated solutions are tailored for each individual application, designed for complete, robust and automated treatment with minimal plant footprint.

Water Desalinations Pre-Treatment Solutions

Pre-Treatment

Water Desalination plants use filters, membranes, or chemical treatments to remove particulates including suspended solids (sand, silt, organic debris), Residual chlorine, biocides, and coagulants (aluminium sulfate, ferric chloride, polyacrylamides) and oil & grease from intake systems.

Sea Water Reverse Osmosis

SWRO employs a membrane-based process to remove salts and impurities from seawater, yielding clean and potable water. However, the pre-treatment phase of SWRO is crucial to ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of the entire process.

Ceramic High Flux Process

Our patented Ceramic High Flux (CHF) process significantly improves SWRO pre-treatment by replacing intricate process trains with a single, efficient process unit. CHF offers the potential to drive substantial cost reductions, improve reliability, and drastically reduce the footprint of pre-treatment processes. In the context of SWRO, CHF holds the promise of elevating efficiency and cost-effectiveness to unprecedented levels. By offering a comprehensive solution to SWRO pre-treatment, CHF addresses the challenges of reliability, space constraints, and high costs that have historically plagued the industry.
